The Gem Cohort: Our New Authors of 2025

We are so excited to introduce you to the three authors we will be representing in our first cohort!

Plush & Regal Press started as a thought in April 2024 and was publishing our first book before September. Now at the start of 2025, we have three books in the works and coming your way this year.

I’m excited to introduce you to all them and share their stories (or at least a little teaser for them).

A. D. Reece

A. D. Reece is a Sacramento local and an avid fairytale enthusiast.

When she’s not reading the latest fantasy novel, she enjoys spending time with her wife, dog, and kitten in their home that’s always full of wilting plants, freshly baked bread, and half-built shelves for their growing book collection.

A fantasy romance with political intrigue, a growing revolution, and magic that revels in creating mischief.

For those who love queer retelling of fairytales with happy endings

Amalia Saavedra

My name is Amalia Saavedra. I am a proud Chicana that often incorporates my culture and experiences into my writings.

As an adolescent I was inspired by Luis J. Rodriguez a Chicano author. He showed me that writing was not just for upper-class white people but for everyone. I hope my writings will inspire other Latinos to write, and show them that their culture is an asset not a hindrance.

I am married with 4 beautiful kids and a dog. Aside from writing my favorite things are reading, my Catholic faith, and musical theater.

My story is a little bit horror, a little historical fiction, and lots of cultural element.

For those looking for Latino folklore adapted to in new ways

Morgan Zack

Morgan Zack is a life transformational coach helping people who suffer from trauma, addiction and stuck patterns shift their life once and for all. Morgan uses the tool of hypnosis and life coaching to help her clients change their life for good.

[The] questions [in this book], they’re going to ask you to look at your life in a way that maybe you have never looked at before.

For those who read the A Journey Through the Tarot and are looking to build a journaling habit

Excited yet?

We’ll be posting story teasers, calls for beta readers, and interviews with the authors over the next months…so stay tuned.
